Fiona Macdonald

Fiona is currently  works in social and economic development. Professionally, Fiona sits on the board of Caithness and Sutherland Women's Aid, is a Community Climate Leader for Highland and Islands Climate Hub and is also a member of the UHI Foundation. Previous to her employment in community development, Fiona worked in education within nurseries, and latterly as a qualified primary school teacher (working with young people across Sutherland). Fiona has also carried out voluntary roles with the involvement of young people including volunteering for the Guides and for Sutherland Schools Pipe Band. As Chair, Fiona has the ability to draw on Sutherland’s social & economic profile and immediate priorities to filter through to SACS. Fiona is an advocate for the development of opportunities in Sutherland, in particular, ensuring inclusivity and development of safe spaces.
