Paddleboard Lesson
Lessons for adults, kids, groups and families.
Service Description
Join us for a tailored lesson in paddleboarding at Loch Brora. Our lessons are suitable for absolute beginners through to intermediates. We cover everything from different parts of the board, safety, weather, paddling basics and getting back on your board if you fall in. Depending on your abilities and confidence we can also work on paddle technique, moving around and jumping on your board, tricks and games. We are never too far away from shore and we can stay within your depth if you are nervous. Kids lessons focus more on fun, jumping on and off the board, paddling around and exploring and playing games. For more nervous kids we can tow them on their own board or they can sit with an instructor. For family lessons we will sometimes take kids younger than 8, please contact us to discuss this further. Private lessons will focus entirely on what you want to work on, whether that is learning to stand up or learning to do a step back turn. If you have your own board and want to take it let us know, we can go through everything from the very beginning where you unpack your board and set it all up. We provide wetsuits, buoyancy aids and boards. Safety is our priority and you must wear a wetsuit and buoyancy aid on our lessons, unless there are exceptional circumstances. It is recommended to wear trainers, sliders or similar to protect your feet when we walk into the loch. There are no changing areas or toilet facilities at Loch Brora, it is a beautiful and unspoiled area. If you are coming off of the A9 make sure you travel to the centre of Brora and take the road off of the bridge (right next to the war memorial clock tower) towards Brora Heritage centre, do not turn off of the A9 a few miles south of Brora and follow your sat nav - it will take you through The Doll and to a ford, where the river runs over the road. We DO NOT recommend this route, especially if the water level is high. Paddleboarding is weather dependent. We review the weather conditions several times per day. If we think the weather looks too poor to go ahead with your planned booking we will be in touch with you at the earliest possible opportunity and will offer to reschedule, or refund. Sometimes we may be able to move the lesson to an alternative location, such as the river Brora, and will let you know if this will be the case. BOOKINGS CLOSE 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE ACTIVITY START TIME. To check availability for activities within 24 hours WhatsApp +44 7854 991601.
